Privacy Policy

Effective date: August 7, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how LearnIt LLC ("LearnIt," "we," "us," "our") collects, uses, and shares personal information when you use the LearnIt website at learnit.training, our apps, and related services (the "Platform"). It applies to Students, Parents, Tutors, and visitors. Read it together with our Cookie Policy and Terms of Service.

1. Who we are

LearnIt LLC is the controller responsible for your personal information under this Policy. You can contact us at privacy@learnit.training or 499 Kield Rd, Bunnell, FL 32100.

2. Information we collect

a. Information you provide:

  • Account and profile — name, email, and password (via our authentication provider, Supabase) and role (Student or Tutor). Tutors additionally provide a profile photo, an introduction video, subjects taught, languages, hourly rate, timezone, country, phone number, a short description, work experience, education history, and diploma/certificate documents uploaded for verification.
  • Bookings and communications — lessons you book, in-app messages between students and tutors, reviews, and technical-issue reports (which may include a screenshot you choose to attach).
  • Payment details — processed by Stripe, our payment processor; LearnIt does not itself collect or store full card details. See Section 4.
  • Verification information — for Tutors, the diploma/ certificate files described above. We do not currently perform government ID or biometric identity verification.

b. Information collected automatically:

  • Session cookies — our authentication provider (Supabase) sets cookies needed to keep you signed in. We do not currently use analytics, advertising, or tracking cookies. See our Cookie Policy.

c. Lesson recordings:

  • Lessons are conducted through our video provider, Daily.co. Before joining a lesson, both the student and the tutor are separately asked to agree to recording. A lesson is only recorded if bothsides agreed before the video room was created; if either side didn't agree (or agreed only after the room already existed), the lesson is not recorded. See Section 5.

d. Information from third parties:

  • None currently — LearnIt does not offer sign-in through Google, Apple, or any other third-party account.

3. How we use information

We use personal information to:

  • create and manage accounts and provide the Platform;
  • match Students with Tutors and enable scheduling, lessons, and communication;
  • verify Tutors' submitted credentials;
  • provide customer support and resolve disputes;
  • enable and, where both parties agreed, store lesson recordings for dispute resolution (Section 5);
  • send service-related messages (e.g. booking confirmations); and
  • comply with law and enforce our Terms.

4. Payment information

LearnIt uses Stripe as its payment processor for trial lessons and hour packages. We will not store your full card details ourselves; Stripe processes and stores payment information under its own privacy and security practices.

5. Lesson recordings and monitoring

Lessons run through our video provider, Daily.co. Recording is opt-in and requires agreement from both the student and the tutor, collected separately for each lesson before joining; if only one side agrees, the lesson is not recorded. Where a lesson is recorded, the recording is used only to help resolve disputes about whether a lesson took place (e.g. no-show reports) and is not used for any other purpose, such as training or marketing, without further notice.

6. How we share information

We share personal information:

  • Between Students and Tutors — as needed to arrange and deliver lessons (for example, a Tutor sees the information necessary to teach a booked lesson).
  • With service providers — companies that help us run the Platform: Supabase (authentication, database, and file storage), Daily.co (video calls), and Vercel (hosting), and Stripe (payment and billing information, as our payment processor). These providers may process data on servers located in the United States or other countries.
  • For legal reasons — to comply with law, respond to lawful requests, enforce our Terms, or protect the rights, safety, and property of LearnIt, our users, or the public.
  • In a business transfer — in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, subject to this Policy.

We do not sell your personal information.

7. Children's privacy

LearnIt Services are not intended for use by children under the age of 18 without the supervision of their parent or legal guardian. If you are under 18 but not less than 13, you will need to ask your parent or legal guardian to set up an account on the LearnIt Platform that you may use under their supervision.

We do not knowingly collect information from children under the age of 13 and discourage the use of LearnIt by children under this age. We encourage parents and legal guardians to monitor their children's internet usage and help enforce this Policy by instructing their children never to provide information on the Platform without their permission.

8. Data retention

We keep personal information only as long as needed for the purposes in this Policy. You may request deletion of your account at any time from your Settings page.

9. Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect personal information, including encrypted connections (HTTPS) and industry-standard password hashing handled by our authentication provider. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. Please keep your account credentials confidential and notify us of any suspected unauthorized use.

10. Your privacy rights

You may have rights over your personal information, such as to access, correct, or delete it. To exercise these rights, contact us at privacy@learnit.training or use the account-deletion option in Settings. We will not discriminate against you for exercising your rights.

11. Cookies

We use cookies as described in our Cookie Policy, which also explains how to manage your choices.

12. Third-party links and services

The Platform may link to or integrate third-party sites and services. We are not responsible for their privacy practices; their own policies govern your use of them.

13. Changes to this Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated version with a new effective date and, for material changes, provide additional notice where required.
